About One Artsy Momma

I'm a Momma of twins and married to a wonderful man of 26 years. I love reading, gardening, bike riding, rollerblading, and creating art. I've always loved creating art but never thought of sharing it. Raising a family has always been my top priority. Now that my kids are in college, why not get those creative juices going again? I've taken drawing classes during high school and a community college. Bottom line, I'm a self-taught artist. I love it! I am so grateful to share it with the world!! :)

My Progress with Ernesto the Owl

Ernesto the Owl

I’m almost finished with “Ernesto the Owl.” He needs some finishing touches and will be looking for a new home.

I’ve put several fun hours into creating this plump Christmas owl, and I can’t wait to see what he will look like on tote bags, wood art, and all the other products in my online shops. I’ll keep you posted when the original is available, and the products are loaded in my shops.

Ernesto the Owl

I used an H pencil to trace Ernesto.
When using watercolors, it’s all about layering colors. So fun!!

I am happy to introduce to you all “Ernesto the Owl.”
I’m currently using watercolor pencils to create this cutie pie. I hope to share my progress with you all daily.

I’m debating on whether to change the background. Stay tuned.

Owlet Watercolor Painting

I’m almost finished with this adorable owlet watercolor painting. Owls are my all-time favorite birds and a frequent subject of my art pieces. Owls are beautiful and mysterious looking birds. I adore them so much.

I am a beginner watercolorist and have been enjoying practicing. I feel that I’m getting better every day. As they say, “Practice makes Perfect!” I try to paint every day for at least an hour or more.

Lately, I have been trying out watercolor pencils and sticks, and my latest is my new watercolor Sketchers’ Pocket Box from this fantastic company, Winsor and Newton. They have some superb quality watercolor paints. I highly recommend them.

I can’t wait to see how much I’ve improved a year from now.

Oliver the Owl was relaxing on his favorite tree branch when suddenly, an adorable ladybug appeared to visit him. They admired each other and eventually became great friends.

Drawing Llamas

I am now working on my llama skills. I think llamas are so adorable. I love their big, beautiful eyes and long necks.

Interesting Facts about Llamas:

  • Llamas have an excellent sense of smell, hearing, and eyesight.
  • Llamas are expressive animals. If they are unhappy with another llama, they will stick their tongue out or spit on them.
  • Llamas are similar to camels in that they can survive for weeks without water because they collect moisture from their food.
  • Llamas manure is almost odorless. Wow!
  • Llamas can live to be 20 years old.
