Work In Progress – Mr. Moon

I wanted to share something new on my website.  My art pieces that are in the developing stages.  I actually have several that I’m working on.  I like to be able to switch around from one art piece to another, depending on my mood.  This one here is called Mr. Moon.  He is wearing his night cap, ready for the sun to take over.

With this painting, I’m stepping out of my comfort zone, and I’m trying out acrylic paint tubes with a variety of palette knives.  I’m creating this digitally using this fabulous software called, ArtRage.  I hope to have this completed soon, and I’ll share the finished piece.

In the meantime I wanted to share some brilliant paintings by other artists.   Each one of these are so amazing.  Such great talent.

This piece I find calming to look at.  This is called the Deep Sea Moon Mermaid by, Molly Harrison.  Molly creates a lot of fantasy paintings.

Here you have a very sweet painting that I think would be perfect on a nursery wall.  The title of this painting is, Baby’s Boats A Silver Moon, by Katie McCollow.

If I Were The Worlds Tallest Mammal…

I would be the beautiful and poised giraffe.  They’re legs alone are taller than many humans.  They can run as fast as 35 miles an hour.  Their tongues are long as well, reaching 21 inches, which helps them pluck leaves and buds in the tree tops.  They can eat hundreds of pounds of leaves each week.  They actually regurgitate their food and chew it as cud.  They only drink once every several days because they get most of their water from the luscious leaves they consume.
Female giraffes give birth standing up, which makes for a rude welcome for the newborn baby giraffe.  They fall more than 5 feet to the ground during birth.  What a way to be welcomed to the world!  The baby giraffe is able to stand in half an hour after birth and run with their mothers just ten hours after birth.
They are breath taking animals.  Here are some gorgeous photographs and art of this beautiful mammal we call the giraffe.

Panda Bear Love

Oh how I love these beautiful black and white panda bears! They are so adorably cute, but can be just as dangerous as any other bear. Pandas can weigh up to 250 pounds. The beautiful pandas are listed as endangered in the World Conservation Union’s Red List of threatened species. There are about 1,600 left in the wild. More than 300 live in zoos, mostly in China.
The World Wildlife Fund is the primary international conservation organization protecting pandas and their habitat. To make a donation in support of WWF’s global conservation efforts, visit:  http://gifts.worldwildlife.org/gift-center/gifts/Species-Adoptions/Panda.aspx
I wanted to share some amazing photographs and artwork of these beautiful animals. I’m sure you’ll agree, that they are one of a kind animals that we really need to protect.

The Circle Of Life… well just circles! :)

I have been sitting on this design for at least a year now.  I finally decided to finish it up.  The soft pastel colors remind me of spring.

Everything comes full circle.  What comes around goes around.  The circle of life.

It is amazing what is formed by circles through nature.  The sun, moon, planets,  and so much more.

If you just take a look around, you will see an endless amount of circles.   I happen to come across some beautiful throw pillows, that show cases the wonderful geometric shape.

Happy First Day Of Spring!!

Awe… finally!  It has been the longest winter I think I’ve ever endured.  Of course Mother Nature had to give us some snow this morning!!  Ugh!!  But, at least it’s too warm to keep it on the ground.  We do have so much to look forward to!

The one positive thing about living in the Midwest, we have new seasons to look forward to.  Just wish we could skip winter!  At least we have several months of warmth coming, before we have to deal with old man winter again!

I found this beautiful photograph of tulips!  Now this image makes me want to smile.  You can find many more beautiful photography at Zazzle!

Happy Spring everyone! 😉

Friendship :)

Friendship is so precious. It is a true blessing.  A true friend is someone who is always there for you, in good times and bad.  You can go for days, months, or even years without speaking, and the one day you do speak, it’s like you haven’t missed a beat.  Everything falls back into place, from where you left off.  Cherish the friends you have.  Be sure to show gratitude towards these relationships.

So with friendships in mind, here is my latest painting.  I thought they would make a great pair, the caterpillar and his buddy, the ladybug.  I wonder what will happen with their friendship, once the caterpillar changes his looks?

If it’s a true friendship, nothing will change. 🙂Uncommon Friends
